Hourly vs. Project-based Rate:
IT, and the work that goes into providing a solution is not always a clear cut, or easily defined. Our pricing structure is tailored to the need we're engaged to provide a solution for.
In the case of "break-fix" work, simpler support problems, or issues where we generally expect to be involved for less than five hours, we generally use an hourly structure. All hourly support calls are subject to a minimum of one hour, thereafter we charge in 15 minute increments.
Problems, or projects that require extended period(s) of time are priced under a project based cost structure. Examples of project based solutions might include redesigning Active Directory, or a complete IT overhaul, or creation of a highly available, geographically redundant virtual environment perhaps.
